The Northwestern PA Duck Club manages the drawing, assignment, and regulations for all 72 duck blinds at Presque Isle State Park.

Blinds Marked by Orange Stakes

Presque Isle offers duck and goose hunting across 72 designated blind locations, along with opportunities for layout box hunting. Whether it’s your first visit or the start of a new season, make sure to stop by the Tom Ridge Environmental Center (TREC) or the Ranger Station to pick up the most recent hunting regulations.

Duck Blind Lottery and Assignment Process

  • Sign-ups for duck blinds begin on the Friday of Labor Day weekend..  You can sign-up in person during the Trec centers normal business hours.  You must have your PA hunting license, migratory bird license, and federal duck stamp at the time of sign-ups.  See the current years regulations at the bottom of this page for more specifics regarding the sign-up process.
  • The blind drawing takes place two weeks later on Sunday morning (10 AM).  Final signups allowed until 9 AM on this day (no exceptions if you are late).  Blind drawing will be broadcast on Facebook Live starting 10 AM and is an entirely random drawing.
  • Selected hunters will receive a postcard with details to attend the assignment at Shelter 2 at Presque Isle State Park.  Date will be announced but is scheduled to be the same day as the duck clubs sanctioned calling event on 9/26/2026 at 9 AM - see the event page for more info.
  • After assignment, hunters may build a blind on their designated site in accordance with the regulations.
  • Blinds are free for public use when the assigned hunter and co-owner are not occupying them.  Blind owners cannot designate anyone other than the co-owner blind privileges when they are not present or occupying a blind.

Important Notes:

  • Blind 29 is reserved for handicapped and elderly hunters only.
  • Blinds 30, 31, and 32 are public blinds maintained by the NW PA Duck Club.
  • Blinds 65, 72, and 73 are boat-only blinds; no permanent structures are allowed. You must anchor your boat between the designated white buoys at each site.
  • We encourage all lottery winners to scout blind spots prior to making a selection.  Once a pick is made it is final.
